Are you looking for a working method to use a PEX Crimp Tool? If yes, you have landed on the right blog post.
To make PEX crimp connections, firstly you will need the following items:
- Best PEX Crimp Tools
- Crimp Fittings
- Copper Rings
How do you use a PEX crimp tool?
- Firstly, take a copper ring and slide it over the PEX tubing.
- Now, use the crimp tool head corresponding to the size of the fitting.
For example, if you have tubing and coupling of ½ inch so you will need a half-inch tool.
- Now, insert the crimp fitting and place the jaws of the tool over the ring and squeeze it around the ring to secure the connection.
Note: Crimp systems can be only used with a standard PEX including PEX A and PEX B. It does not work with PEX Aluminum.
PEX tools usually come with a go/no-go gauge which is used to check your connections. If the connection is perfect, you can slide the gauge over the fitting. In case the gauge does not slide over the fitting or slides all the way down, then it means that the connection is not made properly.
